Last night, Marissa and I went and saw Jon McLaughlin in concert in Brighton. Seriously, I don't know why this guy isn't far bigger than he is. Just a truly fantastic acoustic set.

American Idols Live Tour 2010
Last year, I went to the American Idols Live Tour in Boston and had an absolute blast. The likes of Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta and Matt Giraud completely brought the house down, and it was overall an extremely FUN concert. This past season was somewhat lackluster, but I was still excited to see the tour - it was that much fun. And, you know what? It totally lived up to my own hype. As I learned last year, the contestants almost invariably sound better live. This year, that absolutely held true, making the unbearable ones from TV actually quite pleasant. In fact, I will say that I was blown away by Casey James, someone who I absolutely hated on TV. The absolute star, however.... Lee Dewyze. I look forward to next year's tour already. In fact, if I was able to make any of the other dates near me for this tour, I'd consider going again. So much fun. My camera actually cooperated with me! I was able to get a somewhat absurd number of photos, and two pretty good videos. All photos can be seen on Flickr (they were too big to be uploaded here): http://www.flickr.com/photos/noday16/sets/72157624467098086/ Lee Dewyze singing "Use Somebody" by the Kings of Leon:

Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Tour, 7/1/10
I expected to enjoy this concert very much. I massively underestimated the power of Gaga.
Um.... most incredible concert I've ever seen. I hate to sound like fanboy, or to use SUCH a cliche, but she literally left me speechless. If I didn't have to work tonight, I would have gone to her second concert, tonight.... as it is, I've already looked into her third date, next March.
I learned a very important lesson, however. My phone's camera.... not all that effective in a concert setting.
LOVE me some Gaga.
